Strive Financial

Insurance and Financial Solutions

About the project

Strive Financial x Hailstorm-Development

Shortly after Hailstorm-Development was founded, Hayley reached out to local financial advisor, Jake Heikkinen, about how he uses (and his customers use) his current website for Strive Financial. Initially, we set up Google Analytics to keep an eye on site traffic while we sketched some mockups. This helped us to continue the planning and design phase while simultaneously gathering interaction details from GA & Hotjar.

Some of our goals for this project were to:

  • Modernize the site and make it a one-stop-shop for all things Strive Financial
  • Make it easy for new customers to request a quote on the site for specific insurance policies
  • Highlight the differences between personal and commercial insurance policies offered in addition to other financial services
  • Add a news & information section where newsletters can be shared with customers

The Challenge

Since the original website for Strive Financial was hosted by a different company with proprietary software, we weren’t able to migrate any of the theme files to the new server. While this initially caused a bit of disappointment on the client’s side, it worked out in the end as the new theme we created specifically for Strive enabled them to use the full width instead of only 50% on the old site.

Project Timeline

Check out the project timeline below to learn about how we transitioned the planning & design phase to implementation & launch.

Planning and Design Kicks Off

Early conversations about upgrading the Strive Financial website kicked off in early 2019, starting with prototyping and wireframe creation.

Implementation Phase Starts

After we finalized and got signoff on the branding and style guide, we were able to quickly shift gears into implementation: building the site we designed with Jake and his team.

Strive Financial Launches

Once we completed the fast-tracked implementation phase, we were able to roll out the new site in September 2019.

The Transformation

Using the slider above, drag from left to right to see the “Before” and “After” versions of the Strive Financial site. The original logo was reused on the new site, but the branding guide has been updated to include navy along with the white and crimson colors.

The Results

New users
+ 0 K
Views
+ 0 K
Average engagement time
+ 0 %

When we look at the live Google Analytics account for Strive comparing last year (2022) to this year (2023), we are able to see steady growth in the total number of users, the number of new users, and an increase in average engagement time by a whopping 451.2%. Drilling down into the analytics further, we can see that there have been a growing number of sessions from organic searches and organic socials. This means that not only are users searching for the site, but they’re accessing it through social media as well.
