So, the New Fitbit Has Rounded Features

We’re talking about a rounded screen and wristband, similar to what you find on an Apple Watch. Additionally, the new Charge 5 features a colored AMOLED display. Lastly, the screen is 10% larger than its predecessor (the Charge 4) and can get over twice as bright – up to 450 nits. What else does this new wearable feature? Let’s dive in!

Brilliantly Bright - and in Color

If you were hoping that the Charge 5 would have the same monochrome screen as the 4, you’ll be disappointed to learn the 5 has all of the colors in the rainbow. However, unlike some wearables, the Charge 5 limits what you can display on the screen so that you can quickly glance at the information.

How About the Battery?

Well, if you’re referring to the battery charge when the display is set to always-on, you’ll get about two days of use out of it. On the other hand, if you turn it off, you can use it for up to 7 days.

But...There Aren't Any Buttons!

Those familiar with the large Digital Crown on Apple watches will be shocked when they put on the buttonless Charge 5. Not only are the corners rounded, but all of the areas that protruded in the 4 are virtually eliminated in the 5. Talk about smooth!

Health Goals Galore

Some of the many health-tracking features that the new Fitbit Charge 5 has are:

  • Fitbit ECG (Electrocardiogram)/Heartbeat monitoring
  • Stress Management Score
  • Heart Rate Variability
  • Breathing Rate
  • Sleep Score & Sleep Stages
  • Active Zone Minutes
  • Cardio Fitness Level
  • 20 Exercise Modes
  • Oxygen saturation (SpO2)
  • …and more!

For Fitbit Premium subscribers (who pay $9.99/month or $79.99/year), they can utilize their Daily Readiness Score, which suggests different levels of exercise based on your recent activity. If your score is higher, you’ll be recommended more intense activities. Conversely, individuals with lower scores will be recommended lighter workouts.

In Conclusion

Whether it’s the always-on bright screen, the sleek, slender design, or one of the many health tracking features, we think the Fitbit Charge 5 is definitely worth the investment. Ultimately, if you’re looking for a smartwatch with traditional features like texting and calling, you might wanna pass on this one. How do you feel now that the Fitbit has rounded features?
