If you would have told me that Valve was coming out with another portable gaming device without any photos or specs, I would’ve scoffed in disbelief. However, this time around, it seems they have their ducks in a row. The new Steam Deck will, reportedly, boast a battery life of up to 4 hours for heavy gameplay. What else will this new gadget bring to the table? Let’s dive in.
Steam vs. the Switch
As you probably noticed in the cover photo, the Steam Deck is similar to the Nintendo Switch in design. Though, looking at it from afar, you might expect a Microsoft product. When the product is finally released, it’s expected users will be able to swap out the SSD. Additionally, they’ll (hopefully) be able to dock the Steam Deck to output their games/content to their TV.
When it comes to its grips, the Deck doesn’t disappoint, as it has a smooth, comfortable chassis with easy-to-access buttons. Though it’s pretty heavy, proper posture and handling can prevent fatigue.
In Conclusion
Ultimately, as with most things, we have to wait until 2022 or early 2023 before we know what exactly will be included in Valve’s new Steam Deck. That being said, we’re super excited for its release and will likely be reserving ours soon. What do you think about the Steam Deck? Let us know in the comments below!Â
