How Pollen-Sized Tech Protects Bees
Want to learn about how pollen-sized tech protects bees? Well, earlier this week, a version of this antidote was successfully used to detoxify a wide group of insecticides, called organophosphates. What does that mean, exactly? In short, researchers developed a microparticle containing enzymes that detoxify insecticides before they harm the bee.
Breaking Down the Basics
First, studies indicate that around 98% of hives in the U.S. are contaminated with an average of six pesticides1. This lowers their immunity to mites and pathogens.Â
Next, James Web, CEO of Beemmunity, says that beekeepers can use their solution to detoxify entire hives. Further, in February 2022, Beemmunity products, including their antidotes paired with special absorptive oil, will launch publicly.
In Conclusion
In conclusion, we think this pollen-sized tech is the bee’s knees! Get it? What do you think, are you excited about saving our most valuable pollinators? Let us know in the comments below!Â
