Things You Need to Know About Technology
With every passing day, it can be tough to discern what your need to know about technology. However, we selected three things that we feel are the most important. First, we start off with cognitive technology. Next, we highlight the tactile changes in VR. Last but not least, we touch on the Internet of Behaviors (IoB).
1. Cognitive Technology
While cognitive technology is in the same vein as machine learning and virtual reality, it’s just a broader concept. According to WayUp, natural language processing (NLP) and speech recognition both fall under the cognitive tech umbrella. With both of these technologies, a lot of previously manual tasks can be optimized and automated.
2. Tactile VR
Innovative technologies like augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) immerse users in simulated environments that include elements of tactile/haptic technology. For instance, if you wanted to pick up an item on a desk, you would use one of the tactile controllers to grasp the object; further, releasing the button(s) causes the object to fall.
3. Internet of Behaviors (IoB)
First, the collection and use of data to drive behaviors is called the Internet of Behaviors, or IoB. For example, if a manufacturing company wanted to visually determine if employees were complying with mask protocol, they could use computer vision to collect behavioral data that could then be analyzed and used to influence people to follow government protocols.
