About the project

Precast Terrazzo x Hailstorm-Development

Precast Terrazzo Enterprises, Inc. reached out to Hailstorm-Development in January 2024 to discuss the redesign and launch of a brand new site for their business. The primary driver for the project was to remove any doubt or questions that prospective customers may have about working with PTE for their terrazzo needs.

By including information about the various terrazzo suppliers, the history of terrazzo, as well as helpful FAQs, customers are now fully equipped to request a quote on their own time, without having to spend a lot of time searching for jobs, what materials are needed before the job can be started, and so on.

Some of our goals for this project were to:

  • Revamp the PTEI website to be modern and cutting-edge
  • Make it easy for potential customers to view previously completed jobs
  • Outline the process from the start to finish of the job
  • Enable customers to view, download, and access shop drawings and templates
  • Improve accessibility and user experience
  • Increase the native SEO power of the site, with future-proofing to achieve and retain high search engine rankings
  • Allow customers to request a proposal online

The Challenge

Precast Terrazzo Enterprises Inc., in Raleigh, NC, is one of the premier precast suppliers in the Southeast United States. Our unique work relationship with architects and designers worldwide, coupled with our attention to detail with their special requirements, results in beautiful and quality products.

Since 1996, Precast Terrazzo Enterprises Inc. has built a magnificent portfolio of completed projects, from California to Kuwait, carving out a reputation as one of the industry’s most respected and reliable precast suppliers.

One of the most common questions PTEI receives from customers is, “What do you need from me?”. With the new site design, prospective customers can easily and quickly locate and download the templates they need. It also has several new features such as:

  • A Terrazzo Association Locator tool – using a dropdown menu, customers can select their state and are automatically taken to the respected association depending on their selection
  •  Full resolution, high-definition photo gallery – this page displays a filterable selection of jobs that PTEI has completed in recent years
  • Architectural Illustrations – displays a list of various examples of architectural installations and drawings
  • Standard Shop Drawing Templates – similar to the architectural installations, this page provides different templates customers can download and use for their own jobs

In short, the primary objective was to maintain the same style and branding of the current site while broadening the actions both existing and prospective customers can take when browsing.

The Results

In the last 28 days (as of 8/18/24), we’ve seen an increase in new users and longer session durations. At the moment, desktop users are leading over mobile devices. The homepage, photo gallery, and contact us pages are currently the most popular for new users to land on.

Since its launch, there has been almost the same amount of direct users (those that go directly to the URL) versus organic search (Google, Bing, etc.). This indicates that a significant amount of traffic to PTEI’s site is being discovered through search engine results.
