What the RAM Slider Will Do
Twitter (now X) user @Leopeva64 has announced an upcoming feature in Microsoft Edge – a RAM slider. This slider, targeted toward gamers, will give users even more control over the browser. Not only can reducing RAM usage improve memory, but also enhance user experience.Â
Performance Improvements
In the screenshots uploaded, the new control is just below “Choose when to control resources”. The bar ranges from 1 to 16 and controls the maximum GB of RAM Edge can utilize.
For even more control users can select whether to apply this feature only during gaming or always.
This functionality comes several years after its last notable performance upgrade.
In Conclusion
Though this feature hasn’t been released yet, we are looking forward to the improved efficiency of Edge with the new RAM slider. If you are running into performance issues or are getting a high memory usage error while browsing, try out some of these tips.
