New Metroid Remaster You Won’t Want to Miss

Metroid Prime Remastered is a game you won't want to miss

New Metroid Remaster is Worth Picking Up

It’s not every day you get as delightful a surprise as the remastered version of Metroid Prime. The new Metroid remaster features the same protagonist we’ve all grown to know and love – Samus Aran. The first 3D Metroid Prime was released two decades ago (seems like longer), paving the way for future first-person installments that were a great follow-up to the 2D versions. Though we’re still waiting for Metroid Primer 4, this game is a great way to reignite your passion for the inaugural intergalactic journey of Samus Aran.

One of the things I wasn’t expecting, is that the dual-stick controls on the Switch make for excellent control in both movement and combat. While the one joystick in the original was seemingly sufficient, this feels more natural and makes scanning the environment and its innate objects all the more fun.

In Conclusion

Ultimately, we’re a bit disappointed that the surprise release wasn’t Metroid Prime 4, but can’t say that we are unhappy with Remastered. The theme song is the same, as well as the main menu music that was featured in the first Metroid game on NES. Lastly, while we haven’t completed Remastered, we’re excited to play through and see just how well it holds up to the 2002 GameCube classic.
