Tech Trends to Watch in 2024

The Top Tech Trends of 2024

In this post, we’ll go over a few of the top tech trends to watch in 2024. Some of them won’t come as a shock to you, because this isn’t the first time they’ve been trending. However, with a closer look, you can see that generative AI, for example, couldn’t render human hands, but 3 years later, it’s catching up (sometimes).

Artificial Intelligence

First, we couldn't have a complete list without mentioning AI at least once. If you've been keeping up with our blog, you may remember this was also a top tech trend in 2020.

Quantum Computing

Next, if you're not familiar with quantum computing, the TL;DR is that these computers are capable of completing vast numbers of calculations simultaneously by utilizing elements of quantum physics such as quantum entanglement and superposition.

Extended Reality

You can think of extended reality as a combination of augmented, virtual, and mixed reality. This year, we're expecting more companies to utilize XR for training simulations, customer experiences in retail, and improved remote work.

Brain-Computer Interfaces

Additionally in 2023, a company called Synchron implanted its brain-computer interface in 6 patients in the United States. The device, called the Stentrode, gives persons with paralyzing conditions, such as ALS, to control a computer using their thoughts.

The Claw

Surprisingly, The Claw is not a Toy Story reference... it's the name of a new handheld gaming device made by MSI. Designed to compete with Valve's Steam Deck and others like the Asus ROG Ally, The Claw will feature a Meteor Lake processor.

Sustainable Tech Solutions

Furthermore, at the same time countries and corporations strive to meet net-zero commitments, individuals will be able to use technology to minimize their impact on the environment, too. This year, many are hoping to test-drive solar cars and air scooters.

Cyber Resilience & Cybersecurity

Recent research suggests that one in two businesses have suffered a cyberattack in the past three years. Cyber threats are becoming more sophisticated daily, pushing for automation of cyber defense by leveraging AI and machine learning.

In Conclusion

Ultimately, it’s hard to pick a #1 for which of these gadgets we are most excited about. These were only just a handful of cutting-edge tech on the horizon. Do you have a new device or gadget you’re excited about this year that we didn’t mention? Let us know in the comments below!
