What is Happening in Ukraine?
If this is the first you’ve heard of it, Russia has launched a full-on invasion of Ukraine. Due to this, more than 2 million refugees have fled the country. Many global nonprofits have stepped up to deliver funds and humanitarian aid in the region. For example: GlobalGiving will use around $10 million in donations to provide shelter, water, and economic assistance for refugees and Red Cross agencies.Â
Nonprofits Aiding Ukraine:
- Samaritan’s Purse
- Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS)
- Ukrainian Medical Association of North America FoundationÂ
- Direct ReliefÂ
- Project C.U.R.E.
- Singapore Red Cross
- United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)
- United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)
- Razom
- Choose Love
- Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine through Nova Ukraine
- Save the Children’s Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund
- The International Medical Corps
- CARE
- Project HOPE
- Upwardly GlobalÂ
- The International Rescue Committee
In Conclusion
While it may seem like only large donations are beneficial, even small amounts help tremendously. The International Rescue Committee says that 1-time donations of $60 can provide an emergency kit for 1 family. The middle choice for $108 provides up to eight families with temporary shelter. No matter the size of your donation, you can help Ukrainians in their time of need. Thank you so much for your contribution.
From all of us at Hailstorm-Development, we are standing in solidarity with Ukraine.
